I found this book on Chris Bradbeer's (Hobsonville Point School) blog. It discusses the four main approaches of co-teaching. It is such a valuable resource to read prior to collaborative teaching.
- Supportive - one teacher takes lead while the other roams
- Parallel - both teachers are working with groups
- Complementary - enhancing the instruction provided
- Team - lessons are divided in ways the utilise the strength and expertise of each teacher. Teachers plan, teach and assess and are responsible for the whole class
The goal is always to improve educational outcomes.
Cooperative Process
